Live Well

“I dream of a world free from pain and suffering. I dream of a world free from disease.  Share my vision. Love life and live it to its fullest in happiness and health.”

Dr. Myron Wentz

When I first heard those words from Dr. Myron Wentz, it struck a chord in my heart, and brought renewed purpose to my life.  I wanted to live well.   I had spent many years in a medical research lab working with patients suffering from long term effects of chronic degenerative diseases.

Working in the hospital I saw firsthand the painful cost of basic lifestyle choices, poor nutrition, and chronic inflammation caused by an altered immune system.

Coming home from work, I saw the devastating effects of chronic degenerative disease in my own son. Having been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes as an infant, his own body was attacking itself, causing multiple auto-immune diseases and severe food sensitivities. It was time to make significant changes in the way we lived.

I quit my laboratory job and focused on my son’s health, opening my mind to new possibilities. My approach transformed from a primary focus on prescription drugs to a more holistic one. I always felt that nutrition plays a huge part in health. Drugs had caused many serious side effects for my son, so I explored other options, from the foods we ate to meditation practices.

Live Well

live healthyThroughout the early days I felt totally alone in my search for better health for my son. I had no one to turn to for advice and support. It was an auspicious day I discovered USANA Health Sciences, founded by Dr. Myron Wentz. Not only did I now have access to quality nutritional products, I found a community of motivated and health conscious people sharing ideas and tips for healthy living.  This community had also made a commitment to live well.

I reached out to others and found a common need. The lives of far too many people in the world are being blighted and cut short by chronic diseases such as heart disease, stroke, cancer, chronic respiratory diseases and diabetes. People want to be healthy but don’t know where to begin. They become overwhelmed, like I was, to the many choices facing us today. Unhealthy habits are ingrained in our daily lives.
